Hello and welcome to the Angelman AAC forum!
This forum has been set up by me, an AS parent, as a place for other parents, carers and therapists to come together to discuss all things Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
The world of AAC can be pretty daunting at first glance (and even second, third and fourth!). A number of Facebook groups and fileserv systems have sprung up to enable people to share information, but posts are easily lost on long Facebook pages, and information can't be searched for. By categorising topics, this forum aims to make it quicker and easier for people to find the answers to the questions they have about AAC.
Although it is called "Angelman AAC", it is open to parents, therapists and carers of anyone with communication needs. So join up and get stuck in!
Please note, the forum is currently open to public view so that non-members can also access the information on these pages. The only exception is the "Your Videos" board, which is only accessible by members of the forum.
Happy chatting!
DonnaRE.

Hi! I'm Laura, mum of Zac (AS del+) who's 2 yrs old. I have attended the weekend PODD course and we have been trying to implement PODD. We have had a lull recently but we really need to get back on it so we are looking for lots of ideas and support.

I am Kristin. A long-time special education teacher, now a doctoral candidate in special education. My last 3 years of teaching I used the PODD extensively. Prior to that I used all sorts of AAC and AT. Thanks for starting this forum. I look forward to seeing it grow.

I am Becky Gohs, mom of Maggie. She will be going to 3 year old PK in January so I am gearing up for school communication. Like Kristen, I am a doctoral student and wishing to study AAC devices and how they are used in schools, perhaps the perceptions of teachers and students.

Hi, I'm Phyllis, mom to Justin and Tyler, who will be 15 in December. (AS del+) They're using iPads in school now, but I'd like to find out more about how to use them better, and perhaps other options that they would succeed with. They just started high school, so will have the same teacher for the next 6 years, so hopefully with some serious effort with a fixed group of people we can make some progress!
